Surely such an expensive doll would definitely set someone back quite a bit of money and I thought to myself, I would never think of buying one! But I’m curious, so I decided to see what else I can find out about this robot.
My research took me down a rabbit-hole of YouTube videos of people giving reviews and showing off the dolls, each more realistic than the other. I’m simultaneously captivated and freaked out by the level of technology that’s been put into each one; so much so, that I’m starting to think of them as “real people” of sorts. It’s a bit eerie and surreal, yet oddly enough, kind of fascinating as well.
Turns out, according to some, these 400 sex dolls can even take commands and respond to certain stimuli. I’m not sure how to feel about this – on the one hand, if you’re into the idea of robot sex, then this will be a great option for you, but does it totally replace the connection and intimacy that comes with human interaction? Is it even ethical to be purchasing these mechanical dolls and making them out to be something they’re not instead of using the qualities we humans possess?
I’m no expert but it does make sense that these 400 sex dolls can help people who are unable to find sexual and sex dolls emotional connection with real people. They will be able to find comfort in a fake human being that will be programmed to please them and never be averse to their requests. It is certainly an entertaining concept but definitely has some cause for concern.
The more I read about it, the more I feel conflicted. I’m all for it if it truly helps those in need, yet I am somewhat skeptical at the same time. Just like in human relationships, love is totally not guaranteed even with such a technologically advanced robot. And I worry that at the end of the day, it still won’t replace the need for genuine human connection.
